IT'S A JOLLY HOLIDAY

I have just spent a week in Sweden were I visited a small town called Norberg. It's an old mining town from the 15th century with lots of pretty Scandinavian red wooden houses. I'm lucky to have parents who own a summer house out in the middle of Sweden as it makes for a great break from life in Oxford.

While there I started on one of my most stereotypical crochet projects - a granny square blanket for a friend's baby. It's nice to get into the swing of crocheting again as I have been too busy writing my second book to make things with wool.

KEW

Kew Garden in London is huge! I had no idea. Me and Katarina - my Swedish connection in London - spent the whole day there and we still didn't see all of it.

There was an awesome exhibition on by the sculptor David Nash

Autumn rocks - all the different shaped leaves and all the colours.

BERRIES

I apologise for becoming berry-crazed lately. I know! My last post was on lingon berries and now autumn raspberries. You might be asking: What is happening with the crocheting dude? Is he leaving the crocheting behind? No I have just been too busy working on another project. Now there are going to be some changes - Halloween is coming up and I have some ghoulish crochet ideas. [Insert evil laughter here] HA HA HA!

ROUND THE GARDEN

This Saturday was one of the nicest and the most relaxing Saturday I had for a very long time and most of the day was spent at Waterperry Gardens. Now I know this blog is called crochet bloke and not garden bloke but I think I will change the name quickly for this post.

It was like stepping back in time especially as a Spitfire plane went flying above our heads suddenly.

That is going to be me when I grow up. The old man even had the same red trousers as me.

I bought some Lemon Balm and Pineapple Sage which actually does smell like pineapple.

Obviously there was cake and tea to be consumed.

I have an affinity for buying succulents and this time was no exception. I replanted it in the handmade terra-cotta pot that I found in their bargain garden bin.
