MOVEMBER

At work my colleagues and I are raising money for the Movember and Sons charity which works to highlight men's health issues. The challenge is for all the men to grow a mo in the month of November. All of this gave me the idea to make a crafty mo for those of you who don't have the right hair-follicle capacity - or, rather, hair-follicle capacity in the right place. 

The result is this leaflet which guides you in the process of making your own mo using some felt and some crafty skills.

Embroider white on white. 

How brilliant is that cover? I don't know how to embroider and wouldn't be able to do it to save my own life but I do like that cover. It was published in the sixties - hence the black and white photography. Love its retro appeal.  

EMBROIDERY STITCHES

I am sitting outdoors in the nice garden, which I haven't been able to do for a long time as weather has been appalling lately, reading Embroidery Stiches by Anchor (charity shop find). It was ones owned by Sheila J Harding which bought it in Jan 1954. I am in love with the fish lampshade.
