I went to London during the week to see off my nieces and sister and before I went home I stopped by Japan Books at Piccadilly Circus. I bought a magazine called Marche and the cashier gave me a bag for it.
The magazine is lovely but do you get the same connotations that I get when seeing a man with a black shopping bag? Especially if there is a magazine in it - he has just bought a porn mag. Fair enough crochet magazines are similar to porn mags in that they are visually stimulating but in a very different way. The mag went quickly into my rucksack after a couple of older ladies gave me disapproving looks - don't think that they would have been that disapproving if they knew its contents.

Oh Theo, the magazine looks divine! And i'm sure the old birds would have been ever so surprised had they known...
That's so funny ... yes, I would have thought the same as the older ladies ..... bless those older ladies with morals. They come from a different time and come to think of it,so do you!
I think crochet was big for men in the 70's you know. Keep on crocheting Theo : ))
That's so funny Theo :)
I've got one of these Marché magazine and all is so perfect in these pages, i don't look at my old french red and white towels the same since.
hahahaha! you're totaly right!
The magazine looks reay nice, but what I like most is your crosser snail! lovely!
I'm glad you all had the same connotation that I had - proves I am not too paranoid. Marche is a gorgeous magazine - why don't we have anything like that in the UK, or Sweden for that matter?! Silly publishers.
Because there's a real tradition of zakka in Japan, i think that's why...
You live a dangerous life...
Seriously, this is amazing... but funny !
That's quite funny, I guess you are pretty unique! I'm an addict to Japanese mag and I agree with Severine...but why they have Zakka and we don't?
Well it was a very unique situation, I think. I know what you are saying, lets have some more Zakka here now please!
