Chain Stitch (UK,US) / Maska (SWE)

Crocheting is based on making chains. To make chain stitches adjust fingers as seen in the image. With your left hand hold the loop between your thumb and index finger while you keep the tension of the thread with your middle finger.





The right hand is controlling the hook. Pass the hook under the thread to catch it. Draw through loop on hook.







Repeat the last two steps until you have as many chains as you need - 1 loop always remains on the hook.

Practise chain stitch until the chains are even.
